AMD FirePro™ and Radeon Pro graphics empower content creators and designers at many levels, from casual makers and students all the way up to seasoned professionals and enterprise workstation users. It’s not just hardware, though, that lets professionals unleash their creativity; powerful software is critical too, and today we are introducing the first of many Radeon Pro Software releases.

The Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Driver 16.Q4 is designed to address the specific needs of enterprise users and also will support the upcoming release of AMD’s next-generation of professional graphics, the Radeon™ Pro WX series.

Addressing Enterprise Needs

More than anyone else, enterprise workstation graphics users need predictable software release dates so they can properly plan ahead. The Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Driver addresses this need with a commitment that updates will be released on the 4th Thursday of each quarter, starting today, with future releases planned on January 26th, April 27th, July 27th, and October 26th, 2017.

The Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Driver includes the predictable feature, performance and stability improvements enterprise users need, and in between quarters we also plan to release Radeon Pro Software for professionals who need access to the latest Radeon Pro technologies.

Enterprise users also expect fast, robust support, because after all, time is money, and our Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Drivers come with Prioritized Support, meaning AMD’s goal is to work with customers, ISVs, and OEMs to provide prioritized engineering support.

Support for AMD’s pioneering virtual reality LiquidVR™ technology exploits the capabilities of AMD graphics and enables professional VR workflows on Radeon VR Ready Creator graphics cards. Radeon Pro Software is certified for workstation VR application use, such VR Design, Engineering Animation, and Modeling.

With DirectX® 12 and Vulkan™ support, the Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Driver 16.Q4 may be used for the coming real-time game engine professional workflow revolution. Game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity are being used by professionals for real-time previz storyboarding, CAD visualization and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

  1. This was exactly I experienced on my good old system, HP Zbook 14, when I installed the latest Radeon Pro driver. It’s simply like having a turbo boost compares to the old FirePro driver. Overall (dekstop and applications) performance has increased dramatically.
