We’ve been listening to people who want to break boundaries. They are creative professionals who make the stunning visual effects in movies and games. They are astrophysicists studying the origins of the universe. They are engineers designing ingenious machines and bold public works.

They have one thing in common. They want to do more. They want to dig deeper, to go farther, to imagine and create more than they ever have before. We’ve been listening – and we’ve done something about it. This week at SIGGRAPH, we are introducing the Radeon™ Pro professional graphics family. Why a family? As we listened, we learned that those who want to break boundaries have different needs. Each GPU will enable the “art of the impossible” in a different way. Here’s how:

  • Radeon™ Pro WX 4100 is designed for small form factor (SFF) workstations and provides amazing performance in a half-height card.
  • Radeon™ Pro WX 5100 is ideal for real-time content engines and immersive real-time design and manufacturing, including CAD and CAM.
  • Radeon™ Pro WX 7100 is fully capable for design engineering and media and entertainment, whether video editing or image creation, and is AMD’s workstation solution for professional VR content creation1.

As family members, they have plenty in common. Based on the Polaris GPU architecture, the Radeon™ Pro WX (workstation experience) graphics cards employ the latest advances in AMD’s fourth generation Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture are optimized for an extensive list of ISV applications. And they are fully compatible with open source software through GPUOpen. Those who want to break boundaries don’t like being tied to proprietary software.

You don’t have to take my word for it. Listen to what Rob Enderle, president of analyst firm Enderle Group says: “By offering highly capable graphics hardware and harnessing the best open source software, whether from AMD or contributors worldwide, they are effectively building a huge ecosystem to address the demanding challenges faced by graphics application designers.”

You spoke and we listened. The graphics cards in the new Radeon™ Pro family will help dissolve the boundaries between imagination and realization as they enable immersive computing and immersive visual experiences like none before.
